though you may be astounded to learn that we have landed back in Texas, this time in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Steve’s entire division was relocated and it was either move or find a new job. Job hunting was not something Steve was anxious to do, and we were not opposed to being closer to the Austin grandparents. So, New Years day
saw us heading south with two vans and a trailer in tow.
We’ve begun to get fairly well settled here and are enjoying being in Texas again. It has been good to be so much closer to grandparents Ed & Peggy in Austin, Lynne and her husband Ben who are in New Orleans and also to Abilene where John is still attending ACU. The weather here is much more to Joyce’s liking and the others aren’t terribly unhappy with it either. Being in the vicinity of DFW airport, we’ve been blessed with more company that we had the whole time we lived in Michigan.
Steve has just accepted a new position within Siemens, but it won’t require a
move for the family, just a longer commute. His new motorcycle will at the least make it more adventurous.
Joyce can finally find her way around and is enjoying meeting monthly with a book club at our local library.
We’ve been attending a young church here, a joint plant of the C of C and the Christian church. Steve got up and talked about Peter for a few minutes last month and the sermon afterwards is worth a mention in the Christmas letter, we think.
Relocating can be difficult - leaving friends and learning a new place - but we were able to travel some this year and have had many good times mixed into the stress.
